"ANOTHER DAY" REVIEW BY WILDY HASKELL
Giuseppe “Gippa” Fortunato is a musician and composer from Torino, Italy. A 2002 graduate of the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi, Fortunato has released six song cycles to date, primarily aimed at children and families. As 2014 opens, Fortunato heads for a different pasture. His instrumental track, “Another Day”, is a breath of fresh air. Fortunato manages to keep the light rock/pop feel in the arrangement, but also expresses a pure joy and energy.
"Another Day" is an aesthetically pleasing number with a flute lead and a solid bed of acoustic guitar. The easy listening arrangement is gentle on the ears, but has the energy of a pop rock radio song, and will get your toes tapping with its dynamic expansion and catchy rhythms. Fortunato's flute work is idyllic and serene, but based on the sort of hooks that hits are made of. And while Fortunato doesn’t get into the sort of saccharine theatrics of a Kenny G, “Another Day” certainly plays to the more musical side of the same audience.
